The Bauchi State Police Command said it had on Saturday, apprehended a
40 year-old man who was allegedly hired for a fee of N50,000, to abduct
and kill one Tahiru Sulaiman of Nabordo town in Bauchi State.
The arrest is contained in a statement issued by the command’s Public
Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, and made available to the News
Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
It said the culprit (name withheld), a resident of Gulawa village in
Toro Local Government area of Bauchi, was hired by a 25 year-old
resident of Zaranda village in Bauchi, to carry out the heinous crime.
The command said the culprit, who posed as a member of a vigilante
group before abducting his victim, had already received N5, 000 as
advance payment, before police waded in and rescued the victim,
following intelligence report.
