A Lagos State magistrates’ court sitting in Wharf-Apapa has remanded
the 22-year-old housemaid of a politician, Hajia Bilikisu Gambari, for
allegedly stealing her property valued at $30,000 (N7m).
Gambari is a former Peoples Democratic Party senatorial aspirant for Kwara-Central senatorial district.
The housemaid, Mary David, was arraigned before the court with her
boyfriend, Tijani Usman (aka TJ), who reportedly connived with others at
large, to lure her into the thievery.
Three of the fleeing suspects were identified as Peter, Destiny and
an unnamed ‘foreigner’. Peter was said to be a brother of Usman.
PUNCH Metro learnt that on September 19, Peter introduced
David to the syndicate for a purported money processing business and
told her to steal her boss’ valuables to procure chemicals for the
processing.
