I started urinating blood after NDLEA torture, suspect tells court

A 38-year-old man from Agboride Village in Amaizu community of Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Oko Uwa Wednesday narrated to the Federal High Court, sitting in Abakaliki, how he was tortured by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) which has led to his frequent passing-out blood while urinating.

Uwa was arrested and arraigned by NDLEA in 2012 for being in possession of 1kg of Indian hemp.

He was brought to the Federal High Court Wednesday for cross and re-examination.

Addressing the court, Uwa said men of the NDLEA numbering 21 invaded his compound at about 3am on February 15, 2012 and started ransacking his rooms after asking for the whereabouts of one Sunday Ogbonnia who also resides in the compound.
