Men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested four men for
selling adulterated dispensable water to banks in Lagos.
The suspects,
Chukwuma Uzor, 48, Ofonime Ikpe 44, and two other accomplices who were
workers in their water factory, were arrested on a tip-off at No 3,
Adesola Street, Ago Palace Way, Okota area of the metropolis.
The
producer of the water, which the suspects were adulterating, Mr Sunday
Nnaduaga, told the police that one of the suspects, Chukwuma, had once
worked in his water factory as a marketer but absconded.
He said: “I just noticed that Chukwuma just stopped coming to the
office and efforts to reach him through his mobile phones proved
abortive as all his lines were switched off. Recently, a friend of mine
told me that he saw him distributing dispensable water to my customers,
mostly banks and other companies. “Since then, I have kept a tab on him
until I caught him red-handed selling the adulterated water with fake
registered names. I invited the RRS men who were on patrol and he was
arrested alongside three others.”
