A Yobe State Chief Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 40-year-old guard, Hassan Lawan, to four years imprisonment over sodomy.

The police prosecutor, Habib Umar, told the court tha Lawan committed the offence on January 29 at Sabon Pegi Quarters in Damaturu, the state capital.
He said that one Sabo Haruna, living in Sabon Pegi Quarters, Damaturu, reported to ‘B’ Division Police Station that he met Lawan, a watchman at Alhaji Mala Jawa’s house at Sabon Pegi attempting to have anal sex with one Tijjani Ibrahim at the convict’s place of work.
