Landlord’s son kills blind woman over rent

A blind woman, Helen Anyigor, was reportedly murdered by the son of her landlord, Emmanuel Ogbonna.

 The incident occurred yesterday at Effium autonomous community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Anyigor’s offence was that she refused to honour a quit notice served her over her inability to pay her house rent. Anyigor, popularly known as Mama Arinze and her co-tenants were issued quit notice to vacate their apartments for their inability to pay their rent.
While others vacated, Anyigor did not, a situation which got Ogbonna angry. Ogbonna was said to have warned the deceased to leave house but she kept complaining of lack of money and pleaded to be given time to raise money.
