Suspected armed robbers invaded two private hospitals at Okitipupa,
the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State,
injured patients and medical workers.
The two attacks, sources in the
town said, were carried out on Sunday and Monday last week. One of the
patients in the hospital told our correspondent yesterday that the armed
men who attacked the hospitals between 10p.m. and 11.30p.m.
on the fateful days collected some undisclosed amount of money from
nurses and other staff of the hospitals. The robbers, he said, also
forcibly collected some amount of money from the patients on admission
while they mercilessly beat patients and nurses who had no money to give
them.
