Police arrest robbers who fondles breasts before robbery

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a robber who has a penchant for fondling the breasts of female victims, before robbing them.

The suspect, Abdullah Isiaka and his partners in crime, identified simply as Governor, Abel and Brigadier used to operate at Ebute-Metta, Lagos State.
According to police investigators, they mostly used to sleep along the railway axis in order to catch victims during the early hours of the morning.
After their arrest however, they explained that every morning, while people were getting ready to go to their different offices, they too would bath and dress like they were going to their own offices.
They were however going to Ebute-Metta area, to waylay and rob victims.
According to the police, their modus operandi was for two of the gang members to be at the back and two at the front. They would ensure that a victim is dragged into their middle before robbing the person. They also have a motorbike for operation. This motorbike used to aid their quick escape from crime scene.
A police source said: “They target lone figures, put the person in their middle and rob the person. Once they get a victim, Brigadier would bring out gun and order the victim to cooperate with them. Isiaka targets women. Once they catch a female victim, Isiaka would start caressing her breasts. He said that caressing breasts before robbing the person used to make him feel happy.”
Further confessing to detectives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Isiaka said that he and his gang members once robbed a victim who had dollars in his possession.
He reportedly told police: “I used my share of the money to buy motorbike. After I bought the motorbike, I and Abel, started our own operation. I later heard that Governor had been arrested. We used to go to Ebute-Metta, Apapa Wharf and other places to rob. Sometimes we go to Ikeja. I handle the guns.”
The gang met its waterloo when they went to Ijora Badia area to operate.
The gang, now comprising Isiaka and Abel, choose a wrong day to go to Ojora Badia to operate. They went on a day policemen were clamping down on motorbike riders.
Isiaka and Abel of course didn’t know this; as soon as the policemen sighted them, they flagged them down. The motorbike halted, Isiaka bolted, leaving Abel. The policemen however pursued him. They caught and also arrested Abel. A gun was said to have been recovered from them.
