Gunmen killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Franklin Obi, his wife and son on Saturday night in Omoku, the largest community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area and fled. 

According to sources, Obi and his family members were at home preparing to retire for the night when the gunmen stormed their house, killing Obi, Iheoma, his wife and his 18-year-old son Bestman.
Regarded as one of the most violent local government areas in Rivers State, most of the communities in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni are battling to break free from kidnapping for ransom, armed robberies and inter-cult clashes mainly between Icelanders and Greenlanders.
