Robbers attack Suntai’s Media aide

Armed men on Monday night invaded the house of Mr Hassan Mijinyawa, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the ailing Taraba State Governor Danbaba Suntai, in Jalingo.
Mijinyawa said the robbers stormed his house in the state capital about midnight but were unable to gain access into rooms in the building. The CPS, however, said the attack was not politically-motivated.
He said: “I was attacked on Monday night by some bandits, armed with locally-made guns and machetes, but they could not gain entry into the rooms where my family members were sleeping.
“However, they injured one of my guests, sleeping in the visitor’s room. His room’s window was smashed with cutlass, he sustained injury and he is presently being treated at the Government House clinic.”
