Man attacks wife with cutlass for not disowning daughter

A man, Nwajioha Ogbonna, of Ndu-Ochigbo Nkaleke community in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State allegedly attacked his wife, Agnes, with machete for acknowledging their daughter who disobeyed him and married a man he did not approve of. Before the incident at the weekend, Ogbonna’s first daughter had found love in Mr Friday Mbam and both agreed to marry after dating for a while.

This, however, did not go down well with Ogbonna, who reportedly vowed not to allow Mbam marry his daughter. He also went to a Customary Court to secure ruling to stop the planned mar-riage but the court did not grant his prayers. Ogbonna had accused Mbam of having affairs with one of his wives and warned him to stay clear of his family. Immediately the court ruled against Ogbonna, his daughter moved to Mbam’s house while her father disowned her. He also warned Agnes not to allow his daughter to enter their house since she insisted on marrying Mbam.
