Two men in their twenties have been
sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Akure Magistrates’ Court
for stealing a female goat.
Two convicts, Mustapha Mohammed (22) and his 23-year-old friend, Sarafina Ismaila. They were sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Akure Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing a goat.
Mohammed and Ismaila were arraigned by the police at the weekend on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sunday Adejuwon, said the convicts conspired together to steal the goat.
The offence, he said, was contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. The prosecution added that the convicts did unlawfully possess a black goat which they could not give satisfactory explanation for.
