Residents of Lagos State have called on the Commissioner of Police,
Mr. Fatai Owoseni, to reduce the number of police checkpoints in the
state.
The call was made recently at the fourth anniversary and Merit
Awards of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Idimu, Lagos
State.
The Chairman of the event, Alhaji Usman Aba, said the PCRC Idimu was
different from the committees in other commands because of its major
achievements in fighting crimes. He said: “Area ‘M’ Police Command has
also succeeded in bringing security to residents of the state. My word
of advice is that the police should be encouraged to perform their work
well.
“There are, however, unnecessary police checkpoints in the state. It
is unwarranted! The police should have human feelings because the
situation in the country is very tough now.”
