    Allegation is presumptuous, says Army

  • Police release 90 detainees

  • Cameroonian troops chase insurgents, kill 70 Nigerians

No fewer than 300 members of the Shiite sect, including children and women, were killed and secretly buried by the Nigeria’s military following a bloody confrontation in Zaria, Kaduna State between December 12 and 14, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) has said.

But the Nigerian Army described the claim as “presumptuous.”
This is as the Kaduna State police command said it has released 83 out of the 191 suspects arrested during the clash.

The released detainees, according to Samuel Aruwan, the spokesperson to the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, are made up of 34 children and 49 women.
