Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of Anambra State, yesterday, witnessed another crisis after a celebration in the city resulted into the killing of five members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by soldiers.

Members of IPOB had poured into the streets to celebrate the declaration by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, that the Department of State Services (DSS) should unconditionally release the leader of the group and Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention since September. The celebration turned sour as protesters were allegedly shot at by soldiers, who killed five of them.
