Former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd),
immediate past Minister of State for Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda
and about five others standing trial for alleged diversion of funds
before two different Abuja High Court may spend their Christmas in Kuje
Prison.
This is due to their inability to perfect their bail conditions.
But, a former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, who
was arraigned with them, was yesterday released having perfected his
bail condition.
The court had granted the accused persons bail in the
sum of N250 million with two sureties in like sum. The court, however,
ordered that the accused persons be remanded in Kuje Prison pending when
they will perfect their bail application. As at the close of work
yesterday, New Telegraph reliably gathered that only Bafarawa had
perfected his bail condition and since released to go home.
