PSC probes Police diversion of suspect ’s N1.8m, car

One of the complaints the Police Service Commission Committee on Public Complaint on Police Conducts would be deliberating on, is an alleged case of stealing and criminal diversion/conversion of N1.8million by the Men of the Nigeria Police Force FCT, Command.

According to Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations, the money belonged to one   Ikechukwu Anthony Nnamani.
Mr. Nnamani in a petition by his Solicitors, I.C. Ejiofor & Co, complained that on September 30, 2015, at about 9pm at Apo Bridge, along Area 1, Apo Express Way, he was stopped by a Police team led by Supol Vincent Ejeh as he was trying to drop a friend by the road side.
He alleged that both his car which he locked and the N1.8million inside it were taking away and till today he had faced persecution and intimidation in the hands of the police while trying to retrieve the money and his car.

The Committee, which was headed by Justice Olufunlola Adekeye, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court,   said that it has received several complaints against the police.
