    Robbery scare paralyses Ondo

Two persons lost their lives yesterday when daredevil armed robbers raided a second generation bank at Obokun in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.

The eight bandits, who shot sporadically into the air, killed two security men attached to the bank and stole cash running into millions of naira. Witnesses said the robbers operated for many hours unhindered.
Traders and passers-by deserted the area while motorists abandoned their vehicles in the middle of the road and fled. After leaving the bank, it was learnt the men of the underworld stormed the divisional police station in the town and attacked policemen on duty. Sources said the policemen fled in the face of sporadic shootings from the bandits.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident. She promised that the police would get to the root of the matter.
