Fuel scarcity: IG’s Intelligent Unit arrests manager, seals filling station

The Inspector -General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Unit has arrested the manager of a filling station along Igando Road area of Lagos State and also sealed up the station.

The policemen team was said to have raced to the filling station to carry out surveillance after it got tip-off from concerned citizens that the manager was receiving stolen petroleum from suspected pipeline vandals.
A team of detectives was dispatched to the place where several thousands of liters of products were being loaded at the station, along Igando Road, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The policemen swooped on the manager, whose name was given as Salami. The attendants at the filling station were said to have bolted when they noticed that the police had arrested their boss.
Salami was whisked off to Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos and detained.
A police source said: “The police team has started hunting for a husband and wife, who are behind major oil pipeline vandalism in the Lagos.”
