Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),
Thursday quizzed the Managing Director of Stallion Group, over
allegations that the company paid the sum of N1. 275 billion to a former
Minister of State for Finance.
Highly placed sources at the EFCC’s headquarters, said the Group
allegedly paid the money to a Bureau de Change, which later converted
same into dollar equivalent, and handed same to the said former
minister.
One of the sources, who pleaded not to be named, said the name of
Stallion Group came up: “When investigators scrutinising transactions
carried out by the former NSA (Col. Sambo Dasuki) with…a bureau de
change operator, stumbled on evidence that Stallion Group also
(allegedly) paid N1.375billion to the company, though N100miiilllion of
the money was later returned, leaving a balance of N1.275billion.”
