Driver attacks, injures task force official

A commercial bus driver, Mr Idris Shittu, has attacked and injured a policeman attached to the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Task Force), Sergeant Adepoju Oluwasogo, with an iron rod.

According to the Chairman of the task force, a Superintendent of Police, Olubukola Abe, the commercial driver drove the policeman to a corner before attacking him. Abe said the incident occurred during the last environmental sanitation exercise at Ketu area of Lagos.
The task force chairman, who disclosed this at the Emergency Ward of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja during a visit to Oluwasogo, said the policeman was part of the security team on patrol during the last environmental sanitation exercise.
