A lawyer, Yewande Oyediran, yesterday allegedly stabbed her husband,
Lowo, to death at their Akobo residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The couple
were said to be arguing over an undisclosed issue when the man was
killed.
The deceased, said to be residing in Grenoble, France, but had been
coming home regularly since he married Yewande, came home last December
to execute a business in Nigeria.
A brother to the deceased, who preferred not to be named, said the
wife was an employee of the Oyo State Ministry of Justice attached to
the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). The remains of the deceased
have been deposited in the morgue at the Adeoyo General Hospital,
Ibadan.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Adekunle
Ajisebutu, said the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, had ordered
thorough investigation into the case. Ajisebutu added that the case had
been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID)
