A 36-year-old man, Kenneth Mamawa, has been arrested for claiming to
be a captain in the Nigerian Navy.
The fake captain, who hails from
Rivers State, was arrested while parading himself as a Navy captain,
according to the Executive Officer, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder,
Port Harcourt, Navy Captain Olusegun Soyemi.
The suspect was yesterday handed over to operatives of the Department
of State Security (DSS) for further investigation. Soyemi, who said
that suspect had been placed under observation after the Navy got wind
of his criminal activities, noted that Mamawa was arrested when he was
about to deceive and dupe members of the public.
