It was shock and disbelief yesterday for thousands of residents of Eguosa community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State when a 19-year-old man was arrested for having sex with a dog.
The young man (name withheld) had secretly taken the dog belonging to a member of the community to an uncompleted building for the bestial act. The residents were attracted to the scene as the owner of the dog and a passer-by raised the alarm when they caught the suspect with the animal after a search. The dog was said to have barked an unusual noise as though it was being strangulated which attracted the attention of the owner.
Those who gathered to behold the abominable act were devastated and raised questions about what could have led the young man to have sex with an animal when there were many young girls and even prostitutes lurking around.
When confronted, the man confessed to have slept with the dog but said he could not explain what came over him. He said: “I came from Uselu community to Eguosa to look for menial job.
When I discovered that the dog was following me, I took it to an uncompleted building where I had sex with it before I was caught. I didn’t really know what came over me.” The owner of the dog, who gave his name as George Ogbonmwan, said he was taken aback by the strange occurrence.
