A PDP female politician cried openly
in Lagos Island area of Lagos State yesterday after unknown person(s) stole
N300, 000 belonging to PDP supporters.
The woman, Mama Bolanle, was said to
have led a team of other politicians who traveled from their state to Lagos to
witness the flag- off of PDP campaign for the 2015 general election which took
place at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
It was learnt that the money was
meant for sharing among the politicians that traveled because of the event.
An eyewitness, Shola said that the
politicians came in a coaster bus and parked at Broad Street.
Shola said: "When the vehicle arrived
the scene, some of the politicians, including the woman, alighted and went to
the venue of the event, while few remained in the vehicle. Some of those who
did not alight at the time of arrival, disembarked gradually from the vehicle
either to eat or buy some other things around. The woman came back about two
hours later to unzip the bag where she kept the money and discovered it was
gone. She screamed. There was accusation and counter- accusation but an elderly
man in their midst appealed to them not to quarrel or fight over the matter.
The old man said they would talk about it later and decide on what to do. The
man said that the money was stolen by one of them and must be produced."
