NAF to help INEC airlift election materials

NAF offers to help INEC airlift election materials The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said its transport planes, Charlie-130 Hercules, were available to help the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) airlift election materials across the country.

The outgoing Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olutayo Oguntoyinbo, said this while handing over to his successor, Air Vice Marshal Abdullahi Shehu, in Lagos. Oguntoyinbo said NAF had refurbished three of its major transport planes.
He said: “The C-130s are serviceable and our aircraft are ready and we wait for the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, for instructions on what to do. Oguntoyinbo said that making the C-130s fly again was the most challenging period of his tenure as AOC. He commended the commanders who worked with him.
The former AOC explained that in line with CAS’s vision, “the command was able to print its name in the sand of time in all its endeavours”. While urging all commander, officers and men of the force to cooperate with the new AOC to succeed, Oguntoyinbo said “we have three serviceable C-130s, we have spares and we know where they are, things are functioning here at the Logistics Command and CAS has done so much to ease the lives of people here”.
Shehu was the Chief of Standard and Evaluation at the Nigerian Air Force headquarters before he was appointed the AOC, Logistics Command.
