An American lady
who went searching for love online, got more than she bargained for, when she met
and fell in love with a Nigerian man.
Before the victim, Margaret Sanders, residing in Sherman
Texas, realized she was dating a fraudster, the suspect, Benjamin Akugbe, had
already milked her 2000 dollars, equivalent of N367, 000.
Akugbe was
arrested and the money recovered after the desperate lady petitioned the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the EFCC
spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, Sanders, through a petition dated July 9, 2013
alleged that she entered into the relationship on facebook, with someone who
claimed to be Benny Brown from Warri, Delta State, with both agreeing to get
married.
