Two young girls beheaded in Ondo
Two young girls, who went to farm in Iju in Akure North local government area of Ondo State on Saturday, have been found dead with their heads severed from their bodies.
One of the girls, it was learned is a daughter to a policeman and the other, a daughter of one of the residents in the town. The girls, who were friends, went to the farm to help their parents fetch firewood.
The death of the teenagers has thrown the entire community into mourning with many people saying the two girls were allegedly killed by some suspected ritual killers.
A source told reporters that the girls, named as Oyinkansola Owoeye and Folasade Bello, both of whom were aged 12, went to the farm on Saturday but did not return that day.
After waiting for several hours without the girls returning, the source narrated that their parents and other relatives organised a search party to look for them. Their lifeless bodies were later found by the road side.
The source added that there were machetes cuts all over their bodies and their blood had been drained away, heightening fears that the girls might have been murdered by ritual killers.
