Prostitute dies, organs missing after corporal’s threat

A policeman, identified as Corporal Ahonsi Mathew, is now in trouble for allegedly threatening to deal with a suspected prostitute. The deceased, Joy Okoye, was said to have been found dead, with her vital organs cut off, a day after Mathew issued the alleged threat.

The corporal is attached to Iponri Police Station. He has been invited for questioning over the death of the prostitute by the Lagos State Police Command.
According to a police source, Mathew went to visit his lover, who is a prostitute at a brothel at Adeniji, Lagos. The source said that Mathew, who has a wife and children, was on duty on the day he received a distress call from his lover, who is also a prostitute at the same brothel with Okoye, that the deceased was fighting her. Without thinking twice, Mathew left his duty post and dashed to Adeniji to confront Okoye.
When he got there, he allegedly threatened to deal with Okoye. He, however, allegedly left without laying a finger on her.
But the following day, other prostitutes discovered Okoye’s body with some vital organs removed. The prostitutes fingered Mathew. The policeman denied knowing anything about Okoye’s death. But he was arrested and detained. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kenneth Nwosu, confir med the story.
