Nursing mother, four others die in auto crash

Five people, including a nursing mother, were killed while seven others injured in an accident on Mile 2-Badagry Expressway, yesterday.

The accident, which involved a commercial Volkswagen bus, marked FST 652 XF and a Max truck, with registration number AA 188 SR, occurred around Abule Osun bus stop in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The driver of the bus was driving against traffic when he suddenly ran into the oncoming truck. Confirming the accident, the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Hyginus Omeje, said 13 people were involved in the accident. He said:
“Five people died on the spot, while seven others sustained severe injuries. Both injured and deceased were taken to the hospital.” Omeje attributed the cause of the accident to recklessness on the part of the commercial bus driver. The sector commander said the bus driver, who was driving against traffic, wrongly overtook another vehicle on the expressway before crashing into the oncoming truck. He added:
“The driver of the passenger bus violated the traffic laws by wrongly overtaking other vehicles, which made him lose control and eventually rammed into the moving truck.”http://newtelegraphonline.com/nursing-mother-four-others-die-auto-crash/
