‘I murdered my girlfriend after love making’

A 30-year-old man, Richard Efiok of Ikot Ewa in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State, now in police custody, said he stabbed his girlfriend to death during an argument over money.

Efiok, who was paraded by the police in Calabar yesterday, said the incident happened on May 22.

He said: “She actually visited me that fateful night and we made love. The following morning, she started a fight when I gave her N1,000. She broke a bottle and stabbed me on my head. I rushed into the kitchen, brought a knife and stabbed her too. Neighbours later rushed her to the hospital where she gave up the ghost.”

Similarly, a 25-year-old man, Cyril Etim Ojang, who was also paraded yesterday, claimed he beheaded a vigilante at Akamkpa Local Government Area of the state. He said: “One Friday, I went to one compound in my community and stole. On Sunday, I went there again but this time, I ran out of luck as people started pursuing me.
