RRS clamps down on suspects terrorizing Somolu community

Operatives of the Police Rapid Responds Squad (RRS) have arrested 38 suspects, alleged to be part of those terrorizing members of the community at the Somolu area of Lagos State.
The policemen stormed the area after receiving a distress call from the residents. They were led by Supol Olabode Aroge. The squad team was said to have combed the community before they fished out the 38 suspects.

The RRS Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr. Olatunji Disu, said that after investigation, it was discovered that some of the suspects were cult members and  others social miscreants. He noted that they had been terrorizing the residents of the community.

Disu said: “Some of them specialized in bags and handsets snatching, pick-pocketing and all other acts during day and night in the area. The operation was to complement the promised of the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, to rid the state of criminal and hoodlums who are disturbing the peace of the state.”

 Among those arrested are 29 males and 9 females. They were immediately taken to the RRS Headquarters in Alausa.
