Amosun partners police, vow to fight crime

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has vowed to make the state too hot for criminals.

Amosun stated this on Wednesday while receiving Bala .A. Hassan, the new Assistant-Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2, comprising Ogun and Lagos states.
He received the AIG in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Amosun said: “Security is very important to us. We will continue to support police with vehicles and materials to make sure Ogun State will not be a comfort zone for criminals.”
Amosun promised to continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure that Ogun State was secured.
Amosun also commended the police and promised that his administration would not shy away from complementing police efforts.
He said: “Development comes with some challenges and criminals will go for places where there is development.”
Hassan, who was accompanied on the visit by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali and other senior police officers, said the pace of infrastructural developments in the state would naturally attract criminals.
Hassan however said: “We’ll continue to push criminals out of this zone.”
Hassan seized the opportunity to inform Amosun of security plans for the upcoming burial of late Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, matriarch of the Awolowo family.
Hassan further said: "I have not been here for a long time but I have seen remarkable changes in terms of both structural and physical development. With this development in place, the Nigeria Police will see a situation whereby the mission to secure the lives and properties of over 30 million inhabitants of Ogun and Lagos is achieved.”
