President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase and other security agencies to speedily rescue former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, who was abducted on Monday.

Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, condemned the abduction of Falae, which he described as callous and reprehensible. The statement said the president gave the order to the police and security agencies to rescue Falae after Arase briefed him on the incident. The president assured the Falae’s family, friends and other Nigerians that the Federal Government would do all within its powers to ensure the former SGF’s swift release.
He directed the police and the security agencies to brief him regularly on efforts to rescue Falae, just as he denounced the recurring incident of abductions across the country. He assured all Nigerians that ongoing efforts to significantly enhance the security of lives and property in the country would continue apace and that under his leadership, Nigerians, irrespective of their status, would no longer be left at the mercy of criminal elements.
