IGP PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO THE FIGHT AGAINST INSURGENCY IN THE NORTH-EAST

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase,  once again reiterated the unalloyed commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to actively sustain the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.



The IGP stated this on September 22, 2015, while hosting a delegation from the US. Embassy led by his Excellency, Ambassador Daniel Mozena in his office at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The head of the delegation commended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force for upholding professionalism and the rules of engagement in the on-going fight against insurgency in the North East.

Ambassador Daniel Mozena also offered to help the Force in handling terror suspects that may lay down their arms.

In his response, IGP Arase appreciated the supports gained from the US. Embassy in Nigeria and further disclosed that a Deputy Commissioner of Police is deployed to the Operation Command centre in Maiduguri, adding that four thousand operational policemen are working in partnership with the military to end insurgency in the North East.
