There was palpable tension in Ogijo
area of Ogun State as some suspected cult members went on the rampage, terrorizing
residents after one of their members was allegedly killed by a rival group.
It was learnt that the clashed
between the two rival cult groups started on Saturday night and snowballed on Sunday
morning, leading to the death of one and building being set ablaze.
One of the cult groups was said to
have set the Oluwo of Ogijo house on fire, after they heard that the son of the
Oluwo was among those who killed their colleague.
Traders and shops owner were said to
have locked up hurriedly to avoid been caught in the cross fire.
OPMESA Joint Task Force of police
and soldiers, were deployed to the area to prevent further break down of laws
and order.
When contacted, the Ogun State Police
Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP, Muyiwa Adejobi could not confirmed the
story as at the time of filling in this report.
