Police have discovered four bodies of women in a room at Olisa
Onyeka Crescent, Commissioners’ Quarters at Ifite in Awka South North
local government Area of Anmabra State.
The women were said to have died on Saturday night without the knowledge of their neighbours or any visible sign of injury.
One of them was an employee of the State Independent Electoral
Commission (SINEC), Mrs Chinwe Obi. Obi, who was said to be the main
tenant, was also the Electoral Officer of Onitsha.
The landlady of the building, Ify Onyebumuo, said she was contacted
on the phone by one of the tenants who complained that they had not seen
the deceased since Saturday and that there was odour oozing out of her
room.
She said: “The tenant said that awful water was dropping out from the
room of the deceased and she had not picked her calls since Sunday.
The deceased has been a tenant in the building for 11 months”.
