PSC CONSIDERS 37 POLICE PENDING DISCIPLINARY MATTERS, 65 APPEALS

The Police Service Commission has taken various decisions in respect of Police discipline after exhaustively deliberating on 37 Pending Disciplinary Matters and 65 appeals and petitions before it.

These were part of the highlights of the decisions of the 13th Plenary Meeting of the Commission held in Abuja and presided over by its Chairman, Sir (Dr) Mike Mbama Okiro, a former Inspector General of Police.

The Commission approved the dismissal of two senior Police Officers, retired compulsorily two others and reduced the ranks of another three. It also approved letters of severe reprimand for 11 senior Officers, letters of reprimand for eight, letters of warning for three and letters of advice for four. The Commission also exonerated four Police Officers.

Out of the 65 appeals and petitions, approval was given by the Commission for the reinstatement of 15 Officers, 9 were reinstated and retired while 41 others were rejected.

The Commission’s decisions have since been communicated to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase for implementation.
