Police in Oyo State yesterday paraded four men who allegedly
disguised as prophets and were in possession of human parts. The
suspects were paraded at the state Police Command Headquarters at the
Eleyele, Ibadan.
The state Police Commissioner, Mr Leye Oyebade, said
the suspects were ‘ritualists’ arrested with mutilated human body parts
in their possession. Addressing journalists, Oyebade said the alleged
criminals were arrested in an uncompleted building at Owode area of the
state. According to him, information had been rife that criminals
usually gather at the place.
The commissioner said that one of the suspects, Odetunde Jacob, who
allegedly confessed to the crime, told the police that they had killed
somebody (name withheld) at Ogbomoso area of the state. He said: “The
