Robbers’ bullets hit corporal on private part

A police corporal, Gbenga Samuel, attached to Denton Police Station, Oyingbo, Lagos State, is presently battling to stay alive after some armed robbers attacked him and his team members. The hail of bullets from the robbers shattered the corporal’s waist and private part.

A police source said: “Nobody is sure whether Samuel will live or not. The bullet shattered his manhood. Those of us in Denton Police Station are praying for him.
He is now at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.” Also injured in the attack is Corporal Fidelis Omage, from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, Lagos State. Omage received bullet wounds on his shoulder and wrist. The patrol team comprised policemen from SARS and Denton.
“The injured policemen were part of a patrol team. The patrol team and vans were two, but the robbers did not know. They opened fire on the first patrol van at Market Street. Samuel and Omage were part of the occupants in the first patrol van. The windscreens were shattered to smithereens.
The second patrol van replied their gunfire. It was because of that singular action that two among the robbers were arrested. An AK47 rifle was recovered from them. Other members of the gang bolted. But the two suspects are assisting police in their investigations,” the source added.
