Man slams pestle on wife’s head

An angry husband shocked people of Ada-Irri Community, in the Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, after he slammed a pestle on his wife’s head. 

The man, alleged to be in the habit of beating his wife, got scared after the woman fainted after he hit her with the pestle. The husband thought the wife had given up the ghost.
Apparently frightened that members of his community would pounce on him, the man quickly feigned madness. Eye witnesses said that the man stripped himself naked and started running about, muttering to himself. The eyewitness further said: “As sympathisers rushed to the scene, they were shocked at the man’s sudden disorderly behaviour. He escaped in the midst of the commotion. The woman was rushed to hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.”
