The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Mbu Joseph Mbu,
yesterday resumed office as the commandant of the Police Staff College,
Jos, Plateau State, with a pledge to do his best to transform the
college.
Mbu was the Assistant-Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone
2, comprising Lagos and Ogun states before his present posting to head
the Police Staff College Jos. Speaking with journalists yesterday in
Jos, the AIG said he was not posted to Jos as punishment. He said: “I
was posted to Jos to come and transform the college. I did not resume
early because I was on leave. I am still a serving police officer and I
love my job.
I do my job like a professional and while working I do not know wife,
brother or friend. I am proud to be a police officer. “This college is
the highest police training institution in the country and it is a
privilege to be posted here.”
According to him, Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has
promised to ensure that training is his priority. “That is why I was
posted to help transform the college,” he added.
