Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu
Falae, yesterday told an Akure High Court his experience in the hands
of men who adducted him at his Ilado farm in Akure North Local
Government Area of Ondo State. Falae also identified some of the
suspects brought before the court and said other members of the gang
were still at large.
Although he did not know their names, he identified them as he said
they were with him in the bush for four days. Falae was abducted by some
suspected Fulani herdsmen on September 21, which was his 77th birthday.
The Afenifere chieftain told the court that six of the kidnappers
dragged him out of office to the bush after they used machete to inflict
injuries on his body. He said: “When one saw my wounds, he went to the
bush to look for a leave which he used to treat the wounds, that was how
we started a journey that lasted for 12 hours.
“After 7p.m., they got my wife’s phone number and ordered her to go
and look for N100 million as a ransom before they would release me. “One
of them said my people were offering them N2 million, how could my
people offer N2 million to Boko Haram.
