Clamp down: Police raid Uwazurike’s house, arrest 25

A detachment of policemen from the Imo State police command in the wee hours of Sunday stormed the house of the leader of the Movement for the Actualization for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and allegedly arrested over 25 members of the group said to be on guard duty.

The policemen, said to be combat-ready, arrived the MASSOB leader’s premises in over 10 Hilux vans.
A MASSOB member, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that the policemen had condoned off the house of their leader and adjoining buildings, as they arrested all their members on duty who were not armed.
He said that the policemen had contemplated breaking into the house of Uwazuruike but their leader advised against that, saying that he was convinced that the MASSOB leader was not at home.
