No fewer than five persons fainted yesterday in Osogbo, Osun State
while trying to re-register their MTN lines as directed by the
telecommunication company.
The MTN management had earlier warned that whoever failed to do the
registration would lose his or her line. Trying not to lose their lines,
the subscribers stormed all MTN offices in the ancient towns to
register their lines.
But, five of the subscribers fainted in different locations before
being revived by sympathisers.
Witnesses said three persons collapsed at
the MTN registration centre at Fakunle and two at Dada Estate area of
the town.
Long queues of subscribers, who had stormed the registration
centres as early as 6.30am, were at the different MTN offices in the
town.
Meanwhile, some of the subscribers have called off the bluff of MTN,
threatened to switch to other service providers if the company insisted
on blocking their lines.
