However, command freed the other eight rank and file accused of involvement in the killing of the 50-year-old Adelugba.
The politician was allegedly beaten to death in her house in Akure, the state capital, by policemen who invaded the house in search of suspected criminals. Until the incident, the deceased was the women leader of the Accord Party (AP) in Ward 5, Akure South Local Government Area.
She was reportedly hit with the gun butt and beaten by two of the seven policemen who stormed her house.
The Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke, briefed journalists about the preliminary investigation by the command. He said the police took the disciplinary action in order not to sweep the case under the carpet.
Eke added that the command was waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of Adelugba’s death.
