Tragedy struck Wednesday in Lawanson, Surulere area of Lagos when fire gutted a bungalow killing a family of five and destroying property worth millions of naira.
As at the time of filing this report, investigations were still ongoing to ascertain the cause of the inferno which claimed the lives of a two-month-old girl, mother, father, a girl and a woman identified as their mother-in-law.
New Telegraph also learnt that a man was electrocuted while trying to lift an electricity cable to enable a consignment-laden truck to drive past under the cable. While another unidentified man that was sleeping under a mobile truck was also crushed to death while he was fast asleep at Sari Iganmu, Lagos.
The fire tragic incident, which happened at Michael Ogun Street, Obele, Lawanson, threw the whole area into deep mourning.
Director Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasaq Fadipe confirmed the fire incident to New Telegraph.
