43-year-old manager of Skye bank, Mr. Fatai Aguntasolo, was yesterday
docked before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing
N12m meant for the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of his bank.
The
Court, presided by Mrs Olayinka Omole, ordered the remand of the accused
in Olukuta Prison until the next hearing.
The accused person is facing a charge of stealing and fraudulent
conversion of N12m to his own personal use. According to prosecution,
the accused person committed the offence at Ido-Ekiti cash centre of
Skye Bank Plc. under the Akure Regional Office, in Akure Magisterial
District on July 8, 2015.
The accused person however pleaded not guilty to the charge when it
was read to him. The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ajibola Aderemi,
prayed the court for an adjournment of the case, to enable him assemble
his witnesses and study the case file. Counsel to the accused person, Mr
Ajayi Adeolu, urged the court to grant his client bail in most liberal
terms.
