Families of policemen killed by vandals demand corpses

The family members of three of the policemen killed by suspected vandals in the Ishawo, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, have besieged the Owutu Police Station to demand the corpses of their relatives.

The family members, who arrived at the station around 7am, on Tuesday said they wanted the urgent intervention of the police authorities in the situation.

PUNCH Metro had earlier reported that four policemen were attacked by some suspected pipeline vandals.

They were said to have opened fire on the policemen after which three of the cops’ corpses were taken away by the rampaging vandals.

Findings by our correspondent showed that the vandals also set fire on the patrol vehicle of the policemen, before escaping with their remains.

The affected policemen were identified as Inspector Yerima Yakubu, Corporal Adakuro Peredigha, Sergeant Obi Chukwudi and Sergeant Okoh Endurance.
