Police in Abia State have paraded a retired pastor of one of the
Pentecostal churches and his wife for allegedly stealing a one-yearold
child.
The retired pastor, Chima Egbochiogum, and his wife, Ugo,
according the Abia State Police Commissioner, Habila Joshak, were
apprehended when the real mother of the child raised the alarm over the
disappearance of her child.
The 71-year-old retired pastor hails from Abiriba in Ohafia Local
Government Area of the state. Speaking in Umuahia while parading the
suspects, Joshak said the arrests were part of the achievements of his
command in August.
The commissioner said that a month ago, a 21-yearold
pregnant mother was said to have lost her 11-month-old baby to a
supposed friend under the pretence of offering help to her.
